Public Markets in Vietnam

On 12 April 2013 the Research Group ‘Traders, Markets, and the State in Vietnam’ held a workshop in cooperation with the Institute of Anthropology of the Vietnamese Academy of Social Sciences in Hanoi.

On 12 April 2013, the Research Group ‘Traders, Markets, and the State in Vietnam’, headed by Kirsten Endres, held a workshop in cooperation with the Institute of Anthropology of the Vietnamese Academy of Social Sciences (VASS) on “The Transformation of Public Markets in Contemporary Vietnam”. Presentations were given by Chris Hann (keynote speech), Vương Xuân Tình (Director, Institute of Anthropology, VASS), Trần Hữu Sơn (Director; Department of Culture, Sport, and Tourism, Lao Cai Province), Nir Avieli (Ben Gurion University), and Michael DiGregorio (Senior Expert and Filmmaker). The workshop was well attended and successfully cemented the research cooperation between the Research Group and the Institute of Anthropology of the VASS as host institute in Hanoi.
