MPI Researcher Luisa Schneider in ZDF Documentary on Homelessness
Nobody knows exactly how many unhoused people there are in Germany. But estimates suggest that their numbers have been steadily rising for years. Today there are probably around a million people who cannot afford housing. “The numbers will continue to rise and the underlying problems cannot be solved with our existing aid system”, says Luisa Schneider, a former MPI researcher and now professor at the University of Amsterdam. While at the MPI she conducted research on the lives and experiences of unhoused people. She shares her insights alongside other experts in the ZDF documentary Leben ohne Zuhause by Max Neidlinger.
