Profile
Yohannes Yitbarek has submitted his PhD thesis in January 2021. From 2016 to 2020 he was member of the Department ‘Integration and Conflict’ at the Max Planck Institute for Social Anthropology, Halle/Saale, Germany. He received a Bachelor’s Degree in History from Arba Minch University and MA in Social Anthropology from Addis Ababa University. Before joining the Max Planck Institute for Social Anthropology, Yohannes was lecturer of Social Anthropology at Arba Minch University. He was also the Head of the department of Sociology and Social Anthropology, Arba Minch University (2013–2015) and Director of the South Omo Research Center, Jinka (2015–2016).
