On November 4th in Szeged Chris Hann gave the opening plenary lecture at the first international conference of the Hungarian Cultural Anthropology Association, “The Anthropology of Encounters”. His lecture “Against Fences” combined an analysis of distinctive national traditions in the field of anthropology with a perspective on the contemporary politics of migration in Hungary.
