Zahir Musa Abdal-Kareem is currently a Research Fellow at the Department 'Integration and Conflict'. His project is titled: “Exclusion Practises in the Context of Immigration in the City of Halle-Saale, Germany” and related to the Challenges of Migration, Integration and Exclusion - Research Initiative on Migration of the Max Planck Society.

Until 2016 Zahir Musa Abdal-Kareem was a PhD Candidate at the International Max Planck Research School on Mediation, Retaliation and Punishment (REMEP).

The Ph.D research was part of the ‘International Max Planck Research School on Retaliation, Mediation and Punishment’ (IMPRS-REMEP) following an interdisciplinary approach in:

The overall research agenda of REMEP is to study the kind of different institutions and mechanisms with which social order and social control are negotiated, established and constructed in (post-) conflict societies.
