Joseph Long, Research Fellow at the Siberian Studies Centre of the Max Planck Institute for Social Anthropology, has been awarded the J.B. Donne Essay Prize on the Anthropology of Art of the Royal Anthropological Institute for his essay on “The Buryat Circle Dance and the Aesthetics of Belonging: meaning to perform and performing to mean in Southern Siberia”.
