MARIE CURIE SocAnth existed in order to promote the development of Anthropological research and teaching in the former communist regions of central and eastern Europe. We did so by providing scholarships covering research training and fieldwork to doctoral students from the region. Altogether MARIE CURIE SocAnth provided 14 fully funded PhD fellowships starting in 2006 and 2007 provided over one hundred months of visits to one of our partner institutions for over twenty doctoral students from other institutions.
