About the series and published volumes

The series is a forum for the publication of outstanding scholarly monographs and edited volumes which contribute to the study of integration and conflict, a topic that is at the core of contemporary social sciences and a matter of general public concern. The major objective of the series is to provide first-rank contributions to a better understanding of identifications and inter-group relations that we conceptualize as underlying all processes of integration and conflict. The regional scope of the series is open, with West Africa, North-Eastern Africa, Central and Southeast Asia receiving particular attention as focus areas of our research.

This series of Field Notes and Research Projects does not aim to compete with high-impact, peer reviewed books and journal articles, which are the main ambition of scholars seeking to publish their research. Rather, contributions to this series complement such publications. They serve a number of different purposes.
In recent decades, anthropological publications have often been purely discursive – that is, they have consisted only of words. Often, pictures, tables, and maps have not found their way into them. In this series, we want to devote more space to visual aspects of our data. more
